ThisSite
In the classical free-market tradition, ThisSite has no plan for how it will evolve. Everything is up for redesign. There are pitfalls to this approach and if it is to get anywhere these must be navigated (probably as much through luck as judgment.) Wiki is the starting point for this technology but how that model might be adapted to this form remains to be seen. If an alternative to the current paradigm of capital is to be created then there will need to be mechanisms like this to achieve the transition.
DistributedDesignDotNet is running on TikiWiki at the moment but if you know of a better CMS to use then Edit this page and put the case. I am hoping that we can come to a conclusion about what back end to use to facilitate the smooth functioning of the site. I propose the following limitation on adoption.
The Ideal would be to create a symbiotic relationship with a web development comunity and have the this site colaberativly designed beneth our feet. By which I mean that the developers woluld get to work wiki style on the code through their browsers and see the live site online (see DevelopmentCandidates page). There would be the same editorial process as any wiki.. Which features the front end will need and how the whole thing should be layed out and flow is up for discussion on the InterfaceDesign page. http://tikiwiki.org shadowbox should get listed at inventorspot some sort of WorkFlow. a CategorySystem?. AdminControl?? standardised format for design submissions and implementations. needs a FavIcon? |
